pg doctors strike in kerala

Medical post-graduate students
and house surgeon doctors are
on strike in Medical colleges of
Kerala, India. The doctors had
put forward some demands,
unfortunately Government of
Kerala do not approved them,
that's why doctors are now on
strike.
The house surgeons and pg
doctors are striking with out
doing their duty. According to
these young doctors they are
doing this for their basic needs.
The demands of doctors are:
1. Decrease their duty time and
implement shift system. ( Now
a days these doctors are
working 24 hour basis)
2. Increment in stipend in ratio
with increased living costs.
The doctors determined to
keep on striking until
Government approves their
demands. The Health Minister
of Kerala had arranged a
discussion with the striking
doctors.
As the house surgeons and pg
doctors are the peoples who
are doing majority works in the
hospital, it is very difficult to
manage patients and surgery
and other activities in the
absence of these doctors.
